Advantech Launches Multi-Purpose Fanless POS Box for Retail, Self-Service, and Digital Signage Applications
Advantech, a leading provider of service automation solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of UBX-310D, an intelligent, fanless, embedded POS system. Powered by an Intel® Celeron® J1900 quad-core processor with up to 8 GB of memory, UBX-310D provides a high-performing yet cost-effective, multi-purpose device. The system’s small footprint makes it ideal for small countertops and limited-space installations, while the versatile I/O interfaces offer support for a wide range of peripherals, including those necessary for retail, self-service, digital signage, and store management applications.
Fanless Design with Diverse Mount Options Ensures Flexible Installation
The UBX-310D’s fanless design and lack of ventilation holes facilitates installation in diverse environments that range from hot kitchens with high humidity, high salt exposure coastal areas, through to spaces that necessitate silent operation. Furthermore, the removable frame design offers flexibility for stand-alone, panel, or VESA mount installation to facilitate a wide range of applications in any commercial or industrial environment.
Rich I/O and Peripheral Support for High Expandability
In addition to rich I/O that includes 1 x PS/2, 1 x GbE, 1 x HDMI, 3 x RS-232 (can be extended to 6 ports upon request), 1 x RJ11,1 x LPT, and 5 x USB 2.0 ports (can be equipped with 1 x USB 3.0 upon request), as well as 1 x mini-PCIe expansion slot for WWAN and mSATA connectivity, UBX-310D can be equipped with modularized peripherals and customized I/O to greatly extend the system functionalities.
Provides a Solution Ready Package Ideal for Store Management
UBX-310D can be equipped with displays of varying size (with or without touch function) as well as diverse peripherals to serve as a retail payment system. With the integration of Advantech’s WISE-PaaS/RMM software package, UBX-310D can be employed as a cost-effective device for cloud-based remote monitoring and shop floor management. Alternatively, the system can be integrated with Advantech’s Alliance Ushop+ retail cloud service platform for conducting customer counting and SRP conversion, or installed with Advantech’s WebAccess+IMM software suite to facilitate interactive multimedia communication and digital signage operations.
Finally, UBX-310D supports Microsoft Windows 7 and 8 operating systems (Linux is available upon request) as well as Advantech’s WISE-PaaS/RMM software package and embedded software APIs to ensure convenient use and customer satisfaction.
