U.S. Army TACOM Awards IRT Command Post Shelter Contract

Immediate Response Technologies, Inc., a world leader in the manufacturing of state-of-the art equipment for military and civilian First Responders; continues to play a critical role in DoD's efforts to upgrade assets for HAZMAT and CBRN protection. On October 30th, 2014 U.S. Army TACOM awarded IRT the contract to provide thirty-three Command and Control shelters for the M577 Command and Control vehicle system. The Army M577 command post carrier is a member of the BAE Systems Ground Systems M113 series of full-tracked Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) family of armored fighting vehicles. Its correct US Army designation is Carrier, Command Post, Light Tracked M577. The addition of the IRT Command Post Shelter as a component of the M577 provides a fully integrated, light weight, rapidly deployable structure that enhances critical operating space. By receiving this contract IRT was once again recognized by TACOM as a vital industry partner in the rapidly changing CBRN arena. This was the second contract awarded to IRT by U.S. Army TACOM in the last five months. In May they were awarded the contract to produce a conformal filter canister for the M53 mask. It's just another testimony to IRT's critical role in providing the finest in life saving products and protection for the public and for our extraordinary First Responders.
IRT was incorporated January 28, 1977 when it introduced its patented Radiant Heating Panels to the commercial marketplace. In 1980, IRT responded to a request from the Department of Defense (DoD) for technical assistance in the area of military thermal targets. The DoD was interested in the application of IRT's radiant heating panel technology to the development of thermal targets in support of M60A3 tank gunnery training and certification.
IRT has been ISO 9001:2000 Certified and our products and services are used by the Army National Guard and Air Guard in all 50 U.S. states. US Army has deployed IRT shelters in Puerto Rico, Korea, Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan, and with the Ministry of Defense in Australia. We design, manufacture and market a variety of products, including rapid deploy shelter systems for first responders, first receivers, government, military, and commercial markets.
