Intuicom Facilitates High-speed, Secure Traffic Data Communications for Signal Interconnects
Boulder, CO - (November 17, 2016)-Intuicom®, Incorporated, a premier supplier of wireless solutions to the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) market, announced today that the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Laredo has enhanced their wireless traffic communications network with additional Intuicom Wireless Solutions. The announcement, made in conjunction with Intuicom’s Authorized Distributor, Twincrest Technologies, represents an expansion of Laredo’s wireless signal interconnect initiative leveraging Intuicom’s Nitro58™ Wireless Broadband Radios.
Intuicom’s relationship with TxDOT is based on the Agency’s familiarity that Intuicom’s wireless communications has demonstrated itself to be a cost-effective medium for transmitting bandwidth-intense data from intersections back to the TxDOT’s Traffic Operations Center. This latest deployment of Intuicom broadband radios represents an ongoing expansion of TxDOT’s wireless traffic network interconnect.
“TxDOT’s stated mission is to deliver a safe, reliable, and integrated transportation system that enables the movement of people and goods,” states Tom Foley, president and CEO, Intuicom, Inc. “Intuicom’s broadband wireless radios play a key role in helping TxDOT achieve their mission while providing cost-effective, centrally-managed wireless network solutions for communities like Laredo.”
Laredo was challenged with finding an effective way to interconnect their traffic signals back to their Traffic Operations Center so they could easily monitor and upload timing plans to them. As many agencies and municipalities have discovered, fiber simply is not a viable option for some intersections or budgets. In situations like this, broadband wireless is proving itself to be the ideal solution.
Intuicom’s Nitro58™ radios were selected for their extended range and secure, high capacity throughput providing the overriding framework for this project. To augment their broadband radios, TxDOT Laredo licensed Intuicom’s BroadBandPro™ Enterprise Network Management Software. This software automatically discovers, configures, optimizes and secures their Intuicom wireless network. The combination ensures that TxDOT Laredo has reliable and secure high speed data communications connecting all the city’s intersections. This scalable wireless solution works seamlessly with their existing Trafficware Management System enabling the centralized monitoring and management of the entire traffic network from the City’s Traffic Operations Center.
Software So Unique it is Patented Drag-and-drop network configuration, real-time bi-directional network link data, and a performance dashboard that intuitively communicates network performance parameters including ping latency, signal-to-noise ratio, and Tx/Rx CCQ, are just of few of the advanced features inherent in BroadBandPro™ Enterprise Network Management Software. There is simply no better way to automatically discover, configure and optimize your Intuicom wireless broadband network than with BroadBandPro™ Enterprise Management Software-so unique and powerful that it is patented.
