Audiovox GMRS Program Includes Slimmest Two-Way Ever and Company's First 10-Mile Unit

Las Vegas NV - January 2004 - Leading the way for Audiovox's Two-Way radio line-up for 2004 is the most exciting radio the company has ever offered, the ultra compact GMRS 500SLK that's just a quarter inch think and delivers a full 5-mile range. It features 22 x 38 channels, built-in FM radio high-intensity LED flash-light an immediate range of up to 25 feet and a viewing range of up to one mile! A rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery, ear bud with microphone and wall charger round out a feature list that assures the popularity and success of this model at MSRP $49.95.

In 2003 the company introduced its first two-way wrist watch and based on the consumer and retailer response, has followed with a newly-designed model for this year. This radio features 22 channels, a built-in LCD screen for ultra-clarity, ear bud, rechargeable battery, and for those who are in that cutting-edge fashion-conscious niche --- an alternative arm band strap. MSRP: $29.95.

"Once you get past innovation, the next most important consumer feature is range," says Ralph Etna VP Sales for Consumer Products at Audiovox Electronics Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX). "And range is what the market will get from us this year. In addition to the ultra-compact model, the company is introducing a brand new line that offers three 6-mile products, two 8-mile units and two 10-mile radios, all of which will have improved antenna matching, better internal electronic circuitry and stat-of-the-art battery technology, that adds up to better-than-ever performance," Etna says.

The line will feature a variety of package options that include batteries, wall chargers and bonus pack accessories that fulfill the retailer's needs for versatility and consumer options. In addition, there will be a variety of features like FM radios, NOAA with weather alert and built-in high intensity flashlights.

"We attribute our success in the two-way radio market, in part, to our ability to keep pace with technology advances, the ever-changing consumer trends and our commitment to innovation. This year, Audiovox will be offering longer-range, high-tech GMRS products with exciting features and consumer-appealing built-ins. It's no longer a case of being satisfied with just having the ability to communicate; consumers want more range, additional functions and unique styling. The new Audiovox line of GMRS products fills that bill, and then some," Etna concluded.
