Ritron Two-way Radio Callbox Increases Public Safety

Carmel, IN - Ritron recently announced compatibility of the basic and XT versions of the OutPost Callboxes with the following protocols; DTMF ANI, MDC-1200, and GE-Star. Once the PTT button of the OutPost Callbox is depressed, the installed encoder sends the callbox location information to a decoding unit.

Critical emergency and public safety applications require immediate response. Often times, the person requiring assistance may not be able to adequately describe their location. Automatic Numeric Identification (ANI) technology provides a specific encoded ID number identifying the location of the caller to dispatch personnel.

Ritron OutPost Callboxes were selected as a cost-effective wireless solution for the Town of Sleepy Hollow in New York. The town will be deploying 20 OutPost Callboxes installed with MDC-1200 encoders along potentially dangerous rural roads. Additional units will be installed at various parks and playgrounds. Sleepy Hollow operates on a conventional VHF repeater system. Emergency calls are received at the Police Department Central Dispatch by a Zetron console utilizing a 4-digit numeric display decoder. Once the location of the callbox is identified the closest patrol car will be notified. These roadside callboxes are expected to significantly reduce response time. Motorists will no longer need to worry about encounters with the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow.

A national sports broadcasting system will be installing 7 OutPost Callboxes with Cimmaron QE-2 encoders at various locations throughout their campus parking lots. Their system operates on UHF LTR Trunking utilizing a Trident NTS system with a C Plus II alphanumeric decoder. The 24/7 operation of the campus mandates that facility security quickly respond to all emergency calls; especially between 10 PM to 7 AM. The rugged design, cost-effectiveness, battery operation, and compatibility with their existing two-way system made the OutPost the best choice for their specific security needs,

Other uses of the OutPost callbox includes: Airports, Hospitals, Schools, Beaches, Greenways, Marinas, Pools, Amusement Parks, Campgrounds, Construction sites, Warehousing, Manaufacturing, and Assembly lines.

The OutPost Callbox is another unique two-way wireless solution from Ritron. Since 1977, Ritron has been designing, manufacturing, and marketing two-way radio products and systems worldwide.
