Two-Door Controller provides physical access control.

Press Release Summary:

Combining power supply and door controller in single panel, Two-Door Lock Manager mounts on secure side of door and supports 1 or 2 doors, up to 4 readers, and 2 electric locks. Power over CAT5e/6 technology powers equipment where it is not possible to provide mains power outlet to door. Midspan Bridge at source injects power into standard CAT5e/6 cable system without affecting data, while Lock Manager at destination splits power and data for delivery to local devices.

Original Press Release:

Borer Introduces the Smallest Two-Door Controller in the World for Security Access Control

For use for physical access control, the Two-Door Lock Manager supports one or two doors, up to four readers and two electric locks.

The size of a mobile phone, the Two-Door Lock Manager has a small footprint and is designed to be mounted on the secure side of the door. It combines both a power supply and door controller in a single panel.

The operating modes supported include:

1. Two door control each with IN and OUT readers and two electric locks.

2. Single door control with IN and OUT readers, electric lock and audible alarm or alarm circuit shunt output.

3. Airlock/Interlock/Mantrap control sequencing two doors, only permitting one at a time to be opened.

4. Locker or cabinet management enabling one reader to selectively control access to many doors.

Power over CAT5e/6 technology powers equipment where it is inconvenient, expensive or not possible to provide a mains power outlet to the door. It provides both power and data to devices including smartcard readers, biometrics readers and door controllers over CAT5e/6 cable.

This solution requires two components; a Midspan Bridge at the source that injects power into a standard CAT5e/6 cable system without affecting the data and a Lock Manager at the destination that splits power and data for delivery to local devices.

The power management chipset employed (IEEE 802.3 PoE plus standard), is designed for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications, providing protection against short circuit, polarity reversal and the accidental connection of PoE non-compliant equipment.

The removal of unnecessary equipment together with a low energy profile delivers a ‘Cleaner, Leaner and Greener’ solution, reducing the cost of ownership.
