Tvia Enters Hospitality Market with Shipments of NBG-Branded Flat-Panel TVs

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 19 /- Tvia, Inc. (NASDAQ:TVIA), a leading provider of digital display processors for advanced flat-panel TVs, broadcast digital DVRs, consumer displays and monitors, today announced it has begun shipping NBG-branded LCD-TVs for the hospitality market. The flat-panel TVs are based on Tvia's turnkey reference designs using the TrueView(TM) 5600 digital display processor.

These product shipments mark a significant shift in Tvia's business strategy into the design and manufacture of flat panel televisions for third parties. NBG sells TVs to the U.S. hotel and hospitality market. The hospitality industry represents one of the fastest growing opportunities for flat panel displays as hotels around the world transition from CRT to flat-panel displays. Tvia is shipping NBG-branded flat-panel TVs in 13, 20, 26, 32, 37 and 42 inch LCD TVs and 50 inch plasma. All of the televisions are enabled with Tvia's "Smart-TV" technology.

"We are proud to partner with Tvia due to its world-class product design capabilities, which allows us significant faster time to market," said Paul Bullard, COO, of NBG. "Tvia is one of the only companies capable of providing a complete one-stop shop for television manufacturers, from design to manufacturing to delivery. In addition, Tvia offers superior picture quality and cutting-edge technology features," said Mr. Bullard.
