New Nexus QTN 450M from Mazak Features Powerful High-Torque Multi-Tasking for Large Parts
(FLORENCE, KY) - Mazak's highly successful Nexus product line is expanding into powerful, high-torque multi-tasking featuring a large-bore spindle with the introduction of the new Nexus QTN 450M.
With a maximum swing of 33.3 inches and maximum machining diameter of 22.8 inches, production versatility and productivity for larger-diameter workpieces is assured with the combination of a 40-Hp turning spindle with 1,327 ft-lbs of torque and a 12-station turret with a 10-Hp, 4000-rpm milling spindle (2000 rpm optional). Maximum speed on the integrated spindle/motor unit is 2000 rpm and the spindle bore is 6.5 inches, the greatest capacity in its class. Feeds are 1181 ipm in X and Z axes.
The entire QTN 450M's machine design emphasizes solid rigidity in construction that delivers heavy-duty machining capability while efficiently handling high turning and milling forces. The NC servo-driven tailstock features single-body construction that accurately supports shaft workpieces and provides thrust force up to 2,923 lbs. The carriage and bed feature a new design emphasizing thermal stability, and the headstock also features chiller cooling for improved dimensional accuracy.
