Integrate Machining And Turning Processes On The ZT1000Y From Mori Seiki

Irving, TX, January 22, 2002 - The ZT1000Y, a dual process turning center with a Y-axis, is a highly productive integrated machine from Mori Seiki that meets customer demand for shortening lead time. This efficiency is especially valuable for the home electric and communication industries.

Both spindles and turrets have the same capability and power. By making the No. 1 and No. 2 spindle the same capacity and by making it possible for the No. 1 and No. 2 turret to access both spindles, process time can be balanced ideally. Either turret drives live tooling at 6000-rpm, which can be oriented toward either spindle.

The standard turrets index to an adjacent station within 0.2 seconds and contain 12 stations with an option for 16 station turrets. Both turrets are quick-change type standard to shorten tool change time. The upper turret has a standard Y-axis to move the tool's center height direction up to ±1.6". Both the optional bar feeder specification and the in-machine traveling parts catcher make full automation possible.

Mori Seiki produces extremely reliable machine tools and distributes worldwide. The U.S. headquarters is in Dallas with offices in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
