Strippit/LVD Expands Line of High-Speed Turbo PPEB Press Brakes

Akron, New York-Strippit/LVD has expanded its high-speed turbo hydraulic system to include PPEB press brakes with capacities up to 350 tons. Strippit/LVD's turbo system increases the approach, pressing and return speeds of the press brake ram by as much as 30 percent compared with standard machines of the same size and type.

Increasing the operating speed of larger capacity press brakes improves flexibility and provides the ability to produce parts that would typically be assigned to smaller machines with higher performance.

Faster pressing speeds also improve the output of higher tonnage press brakes particularly when using wide dies that require deeper penetration of the punch and longer ram travel.

Employing the latest closed loop variable pump technology. the oil flow within the PPEB hydraulic system is regulated to match the programmed pressure of the machine's cycle, reducing electrical power consumption and heat build up typically generated by continuous flow pump systems.

PPEB press brakes are servo-controlled with state-of-the-art hydraulics and electronics. They are offered in multi-axis configurations.

All Strippit/LVD PPEB press brakes feature the exclusive CADMAN® control. CADMAN is a powerful PC-based control complete with Windows® Operating System and the CADMAN-B 3D programming software.

The CADMAN control, equipped with an Intel® Pentium microprocessor and a 2-gigabyte hard drive, creates and stores interactive databases for bend allowance, angle corrections and spring-back. These user-generated databases, created by actual bending results, are searched and applied each time a part program is generated. This automatic optimization of the part program eliminates trial bending, and reduces the time required to produce a quality part.

CADMAN-B 3D software is standard in the machine control and is available as an offline programming system. The databases developed and maintained in the PPEB press brake can be duplicated and downloaded to the offline system. Having actual bending technologies available prior to part creation eliminates unwanted errors in the actual blank generation prior to bending, and assures accurate part tolerances throughout the process.

PPEB press brakes can be equipped with the Easy-Form® Laser system, a unique angle measurement device that uses a laser to monitor the angle in real time during the bending process.
producing accurate bending results from the first piece.

CNC sheet supports are also optional. Sheet supports are able to follow a bend angle of up to 60 degrees, supporting the sheet during the forming process. The controller automatically
calculates lifting arm speed and position, reducing operator intervention and setup.

Sheet supports are designed using a link system that ensures that the support arm makes full contact with the plate, preventing sheet sagging.

Strippit/LVD is a leading manufacturer of metalforming equipment, including laser cutting machines, CNC turret punch presses, flexible fabricating systems, press brakes, shears, and programmning software.
