Tunable Bandpass Filters are offered in 390-700 nm range.

Press Release Summary:

Available in 25.2 x 35.6 x 2.0 mm sizes, VersaChrome(TM) bandpass filters offer tuning range of greater than 12% of normal-incidence wavelength and average transmission of greater than 90% with steep edges and wideband blocking. Applications include fluorescence microscopy, imaging, and quantitation, as well as spectral imaging. Due to their polarization insensitivity, optical quality, and damage threshold, filters are also suited for wide range of laser applications.

Semrock Launches Breakthrough Tunable Optical Filters

Now access the full visible spectrum with only five filters

Semrock has broken new ground with the release of its new VersaChrome(TM) tunable bandpass filter family. VersaChrome filters offer wavelength tunability over a very wide range of wavelengths by adjusting the angle of incidence with essentially no change in spectral performance. With a tuning range of greater than 12% of the normal-incidence wavelength, only five filters are needed to cover the full visible spectrum.

Many optical systems can now benefit from tunable filters with the highly desirable spectral and two-dimensional imaging performance characteristics of thin-film interference filters combined with the center wavelength tuning speed and flexibility of a diffraction grating. VersaChrome tunable filters guarantee an average transmission greater than 90% with steep edges and wideband blocking of the best bandpass filters for applications like fluorescence imaging. The wavelength range of first release of catalog filters ranges from 390 - 700 nm. Parts are immediately available from stock in 25.2 x 35.6 x 2.0 mm sizes, and custom sizing may be done in less than a week.

VersaChrome filter technology is ideal for fluorescence microscopy, imaging, and quantitation applications, as well as spectral imaging, high-throughput spectroscopy and even fiber-optic telecommunications systems. Because of their excellent polarization insensitivity and high optical quality and damage threshold, they are well-suited for a wide range of laser applications as well.

"At the heart of this invention is Semrock's discovery of a way to make very steep edge filters at very high angles of incidence with essentially no polarization splitting and nearly equal edge steepness for both polarizations of light," said Turan Erdogan, Chief Technical Officer.

Semrock guarantees same-day shipping policy, rapid custom-sizing in under a week, and a 30-day no-hassle return policy applies to all catalog products. All Semrock filters are covered under the company's five-year warranty.
