New and Improved RIDGID® Model 150 and 150-L Tubing Cutters with X-CEL(TM) Features Increase User Productivity

ELYRIA, OHIO - September 2005 - Ridge Tool Company announced it has made product enhancements to the RIDGID® Model 150 and 150-L tubing cutters. These new X-CEL(TM) features help increase end users' efficiency and productivity.

The RIDGID® Model 150 and 150-L constant swing tubing cutters can cut close-to-the-flare on copper, aluminum, brass and stainless steel tubing. Using a constant swing radius design, the 150 and 150-L tubing cutters are useful for tight space applications, and an enclosed feed-screw design prevents clogging or jamming. The Model 150 cuts up to 1-1/8" O.D. tubing, while the Model 150-L offers additional capacity of up to 1-3/8" O.D. tubing.

Both models have been improved with the addition of X-CEL features - a ball-detent wheel pin and an ergonomic knob.

The newly designed, quick-change X-CEL wheel pin enables users to change cutter wheels by hand in only a few seconds. The quick-change pin also eliminates lost fastening clips, giving users certainty that their cutter will not go down during a wheel change. In addition, users can more readily replace heavily used wheels or quickly change the wheel according to the type of material being cut. Ridge Tool offers alternative wheels for cutting stainless steel and plastic tubing.

The bigger, ergonomic X-CEL knob gives users a firmer grip that allows users to apply more force to cut through tubing faster and easier.

As with the original design, a spare cutter wheel is stored in the knob, and a fold-away reamer is stored in the frame.

"These product enhancements allow users to easily and quickly cut tubing, allowing them to be more productive," said Rick Barone, senior product manager, Ridge Tool Company.

Like all RIDGID products, the Model 150 and 150-L tubing cutters are backed by the RIDGID lifetime warranty.
