TRUMPF Showcases the Power of Choice at Photonics West

FARMINGTON, Conn. - TRUMPF's lineup at Photonics West 2011-the world's leading photonics, laser and biomedical optics event held January 22-27, 2011 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, highlights the company's latest innovations in
laser technology. TRUMPF puts the power of choice in its customers' hands and will display the full range of laser technologies that include solid state lasers, such as the TruMicro 5250 and the latest generation of diode pumped disk lasers.

The compact picosecond laser, the TruMicro Series 5000-the family to which the TruMicro 5250 belongs-is the right solution for many micro applications. Industries that benefit from the technology include semiconductor, photovoltaics, medical devices and electronics. The ps-laser is based on disk technology and combines 6 ps pulses with a diffraction limited beam and high pulse-to-pulse stability starting with
the first pulse. In addition, the ultra-short pulses of different wavelengths in IR (1030 nm), green (515 nm) and UV (343 nm) enable almost perfect ablation processes on all kind of material.

With well over 1,000 sold, The TruDisk family of lasers continues to prove itself across a wide range of industrial production environments. It has unique versatility because it can be used from the micro range through the macro range. High-speed welding and cutting with enhanced precision, deep penetration welding, hybrid welding, and large scale scanner welding are ideal applications for TruDisk lasers.
Release TRUMPF Inc.

Marked by a Beam Parameter Product of 2 to 12 mm-mrad, the TruDisk lasers, with up to 16 kW of fiber delivered power, maintain beam quality regardless of increases in power, resulting in a truly scalable design. With the TruDisk's integrated power sensor and realtime power feedback control, TRUMPF guarantees continuous, steady
and reliable power at the work piece.

TRUMPF's TruDiode Series of lasers will also be represented at Photonics West with the TruDiode 804. The direct diode lasers are available with output powers up to 3 kW for welding, brazing, hardening, and heat treatment. These industrial-grade, direct diode
lasers possess a beam quality comparable to that of lamp-pumped lasers-even at high output power-at significantly lower operating costs.

Rounding out the company's demonstration of complete laser solutions at Photonics West 2011 will be an all-encompassing display illustrating the many laser technologies available to TRUMPF customers, including TruFlow and TruCoax components from TRUMPF's CO2 laser portfolio as well as solid-state laser components from TruDiode,
TruFiber, TruDisk, TruPulse, TruMicro; and TruMark laser markers. TRUMPF products will be showcased in Booth 1631, which is in the Moscone Center's North Hall.

TRUMPF is one of the world's largest producers of fabricating machinery and a world market leader in lasers used for industrial production technology. Additional company information is available at: www.us.trumpf.com
