TRUMPF Showcases Latest In Laser Technology at MD&M West 2018

Company’s Product Portfolio Well-Suited For Medical Device Manufacturing

FARMINGTON, Conn., February 2, 2018 – TRUMPF Inc. will showcase several laser cutting, welding and marking technologies highly-suited for the stringent parameters of medical device manufacturing at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) 2018 including the TruMicro Mark 2000 in a TruMark Station 5000.

The TRUMPF TruMicro Mark 2000 is the first full featured ultrashort pulse laser marking station designed for stringent medical device and automotive industries. The laser’s ultrashort pulses enable "cold processing," which allows fabricators to single-pass mark materials with a corrosion-resistant, non-fading ultra-black mark that does not corrode during passivation processing and remains ultrablack even after hundreds of autoclave cycles. Additionally, the ultrashort pulses enable the TruMicro Mark 2000 to mark chrome plated plastic surfaces without thermally damaging the plastic or polymer. These features are especially useful for medical devices because product labeling and the traceability of machine-readable markings are essential, and the TruMark lasers offer unparalleled results.

At MD&M West, TRUMPF will demonstrate the capabilities the TruMicro Mark 2000 laser in a TruMark Station 5000. The modular design makes it perfectly suited for the fully enclosed TruMark workstation, or its OEM version can be easily integrated into existing production lines. The machine’s TruTops Mark program encompasses the marking software, a CAD editor, a database of laser parameters, QuickFlow sequence programming and a diagnostics tool, and can be easily used and navigated with an intuitive, touch-screen interface.

The TruMicro Mark 2000 is just one example of a highly flexible and precise laser found within TRUMPF’s extensive laser product portfolio. TRUMPF products are built for the demands of an industrial environment, ensuring reliability and quality in spot or seam welding, cutting of fine contours, plastic welding, precision cutting of stents, and other applications.
