TRUMPF Highlights Versatility of Thin Disk Laser Concept at Photonics West 2008

FARMINGTON, Conn., December 18, 2007 - TRUMPF Inc. will display their portfolio of laser technology products at Photonics West 2008. TRUMPF's vertical integration enables manufacturers and integrators to choose the laser media that best fits their specific application. At this year's show, TRUMPF will highlight the versatility of the thin disk laser concept, from multi-kW operation to amplification of ultra-fast pulses without CPA. In booth #6130, TRUMPF will be featuring lasers from its TruMicro, TruFiber and TruMark Series.

The TruMicro 5000 Series sets the standard for the industrial world record average power in IR (500W at 1030nm) and green (25W at 515nm). The TruMicro 5000 Series is a ps-laser based on disk technology and features a diffraction limited beam and pulse to pulse repeatability. The TruMicro 7000 Series is a q-switched laser based on disk technology and features a high average power, fiber delivered laser system (700W).
TRUMPF's TruFiber 300 is a fiber laser with single mode operation featuring an output power of 300W and up to three individual, diffraction limited delivery fibers. The TruFiber 300 has the capability to be placed at a distance of up to thirty meters between the work place and the supply unit, and M² are guaranteed to be smaller than 1.1.

The TruMark Series 3000 provides users with everything a marking laser needs for integration with a compact design, and high-quality marking of all parts is guaranteed by TRUMPF's superior beam quality and very stable pulse-to-pulse performance.

In addition to the TRUMPF exhibit at Photonics West, Peter Leibinger, vice president of TRUMPF's Management Board and head of the Laser Technology and Electronics division will be speaking at the 2008 Photonics West Laser & Photonics Marketplace Seminar. Mr. Leibinger's keynote address: 'Photonics: is the best yet to come?' will explore whether new laser sources will be able to fill the gap when alternative sources are not available to complete a job. The seminar takes place January 21st, 2008 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA, and is regarded as the world's most important laser source forum and market strategy event.

TRUMPF is the world's largest producers of fabricating machinery and a world market leader in lasers used for industrial production technology. Additional company information is available at: www.us.trumpf.com
