Axalta Coating Systems has introduced a specialist commercial vehicle (CV) system providing a simple but versatile solution for high quality truck, bus and coach refinishing in Australia and New Zealand.
The Imron® Fleetline system consists of a range of complementary products that can be combined to satisfy all requirements of the modern commercial vehicle paint shop, comprising purpose specific primers, fillers and topcoats.
The heart of the system, developed specifically for CV work, is the Imron® Elite and Imron® Traffic topcoats. The entire colour range can be made in the High Solid (HS) Elite or Medium Solids (MS) Traffic qualities by using the same tinters, simply by changing the binder as per the colour formula.
These are high performance, easy-to-use topcoats that deliver excellent durability, premium appearance and excellent colour match which can be air dried or baked. Both are designed for panel and/or overall applications.
This topcoat technology has excellent chemical resistance, excellent weatherability, high humidity resistance, high resistance to acid, abrasion and alkali – and very good flexibility.
A full range of undercoats and a specialist clear coat complements the colour offer. The Imron® Fleetline system produces excellent colour matching properties, easy application, great coverage and a tough, durable finish that can withstand the worst of commercial vehicle wear and tear.
The powerful, concentrated tints in the range feature Axalta’s patented dispersion technology, which is built on the newest pigment selections to ensure excellent hiding power and smooth application, even at high pigment content.
Imron® Elite binder contains a unique rheology package, which makes it the first VOC compliant paint of its type to produce superior one pass spray results.
The Imron® Elite HDC variant focuses on outstanding sag resistance and easy application for truck chassis and more complex substrates.
The third option is Imron® Traffic, a 2K, medium solids topcoat, providing excellent colour reproduction and high gloss appearance when mixed with Power Tint.
Imron® Flat is an additional, speciality binder which can be used as a partial or full replacement for the Elite binder to provide fine adjustment of gloss levels.
The Imron® Elite Clear HS complements the Imron® Fleetline product portfolio as a heavy duty VOC compliant clearcoat. It can be applied in one full coat to produce a durable finish with additional chemical resistance and superior gloss retention.
