New Trivalent Conversion Coating for Aluminum



Springfield, MA. May 16, 2006. Heatbath Corp., a manufacturer of a broad line of conversion coatings for ferrous and nonferrous substrates, has introduced an aqueous trivalent chromium conversion coating for aluminum, aluminum alloys, and IVD deposited aluminum.

Alchrome® Tri-Tec is a trivalent protective coating with a low electrical contact impedance. It is easy to use. Color range is between clear and light blue. Application is spray or immersion.

Alchrome Tri-Tec produces long-term corrosion protection and is Class 3 per ASTM B449. It is well-suited for aluminum products used in the automotive, aircraft, sport vehicle, architectural and hardware industries.

Alchrome Tri-Tec is an excellent bonding agent for paint (new or repaint) and adhesives. It meets Mil-C-5541 for Class 1 and Class 3, and is RoHS compliant. It also meets the requirements of ELV and WEEE.
