Trimble and Hyundai Heavy Industries Agree to Integrate Trimble Ready Factory Fit Machine Control Kits with HHI Excavators

Hyundai Heavy Industries Plans to Introduce Trimble Ready Excavators in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific

MUNICH – Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) (KRX:009540) today announced a plan to integrate, engineer and market Trimble Ready® factory fit machine control kits to enable the installation of Trimble® GCS900 Grade Control System components on select HHI excavators in the aftermarket. The fast and simplified installation process eliminates the requirement for drilling, welding, re-painting or disassembly when installing either a Trimble GCS900 2D or GCS900 3D machine guidance solution, which can reduce machine downtime.

The announcement was made at bauma 2016, the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment.

"HHI is very pleased to enter into this integration effort with Trimble for the development of advanced machine guidance solutions onto our excavator line," said Seung-Jai Lee, senior vice president for HHI-CE.

"The integration of factory fit Trimble Ready kits with HHI excavators will bring HHI customers a proven, cutting edge solution that can be ordered right from the factory," said Jim Green, business area director for Trimble OEM Solutions, Civil Engineering and Construction Division.

The Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System is a machine control system for earthworks that makes design surfaces, grades and alignments accessible to the operator on a display inside the cab. The system uses GNSS, GPS, laser, sonic or total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real-time, significantly reducing material overages and improving the contractor's productivity and efficiency.
