TRIM C276 and TRIM SC536 - Hard Water Stability Significantly Upgraded Due to Listening to Customers' Need


Perrysburg, Ohio, November 1, 2006 - Coolant innovator, Master Chemical Corporation
listens closely to its customers' request to improve product performance. TRIM® C276 was not originally designed to be stable in hard water applications over 20 grains hardness. However, when a Master Chemical customer performing high-speed large volume production work was very pleased with the machining performance of TRIM C276, but began to experience problems with hard water soap residues forming on the parts, chips, and machine surface, Master Chemical wanted to improve the product to meet the customer's need.

First, Master Chemical analyzed the symptoms and dug to the root cause and discovered that hard water soap residues contributed to the thickness of the film residue. If Master Chemical reformulated the product to work in harder water, the thickness of the residue would be decreased and the customer's problem would be solved. Additionally, the customer could then expect to use less fluid makeup which would save them money. The reformulated TRIM C276 is now hard water stable in over 60 grains of hardness and will not leave undesirable residues on the parts, chips, and machine surfaces. Applying this new innovative reformulation approach to a similar product, Master Chemical was able to also upgrade TRIM® SC 536 so that it too is hard water stable in over 60 grains of hardness.

Both TRIM C276 and TRIM SC536 meet the needs of the most modern and demanding
manufacturers. Both products use the latest synthetic coolant formulation with a specially synthesized oil to produce versatile products that rejects tramp oil, have great sump life, and are kind to both machines and operators. Both products will perform well in centerless and cylindrical form grinding as well as on high-speed, single-point turning, and down-the-hole work on vertical and horizontal machining centers. C276 is a synthetic coolant, while its sister, SC536, is a low-oil semisynthetic.
