TricorBraun Thinks Outside the Box and Invents a Mop

December 1, 2008
TricorBraun, one of the world's largest distributors of rigid packaging, thought outside the box and invented a new mop for one of the world's leading floor care companies.

BonaKemi, a Swedish-based firm and floor care products manufacturer, approached TricorBraun to develop a premium hardwood floor mop.

"TricorBraun's versatility was the key to devising the mop," according to Scott Simpson, regional vice president, who coordinated its development.

"Afa Dispensing Group contacted TricorBraun in 2002 about representing its line of dispensing products, including a high-output, pre-compression sprayer. The sprayer, which is one of the strongest in the industry, became the spray engine for the mop and immediately differentiated it from the mainstream competitors," Simpson said.

TricorBraun's design department created a sleek contemporary shape for the mop that visually distinguished it from competitors and supported its premium price.

TricorBraun Engineering, along with Afa Dispensing Group, built and tested the prototype mops and related packaging, and the firm's Asian office worked to coordinate its manufacture.

TricorBraun, www.tricorbraun.com, has 33 offices in the United States, Canada and Asia.
