Bucheon, Korea-May 31, 2002- The FGL60N100D, a 1000V trench IGBT from Fairchild Semiconductor International (NYSE: FCS), enhances the industry's most wide-ranging portfolio (600V-1700V) of co-pak IGBTs with FRD (Fast Recovery Diode) targeting induction cookers, rice cookers, microwave ovens and other high-power induction heating appliances. The new 1000V version provides the benefit of sufficient voltage margins for both quasi-resonant- and single-ended topologies. Compared to IGBTs with planar gate structure, the FGL60N100D's trench technology offers superior
conductance (Vce (sat) = 2.5V @ Ic = 60A) and high-speed switching performance (up to 50KHz). The built-in fast recovery
diode on the FGL60N100D simplifies topologies and reduces costs.

Fairchild's line of 600V-1700V IGBTs are well suited for meeting diverse induction heating topology requirements. The 1000V FGL60N100D represents the company's next generation trench IGBTs specifically designed to reduce conduction losses as a result of lowered saturation voltage characteristics.
