Trelleborg Set to Exhibit Industry Leading Solutions at ONS 2012

Leading global manufacturer of polymer, syntactic foam and rubber-based solutions for the offshore industry, Trelleborg, will be showcasing a wide range of industry leading solutions specifically designed with the offshore energy market front of mind at ONS 2012, the biennial international energy event.

As well as exhibiting a number of its already well established products at the show, Trelleborg will take the opportunity to launch its latest innovation, Flexspacer. Designed for application on the thermal insulation of pipe systems where continuous service temperature requirements are below +311 °F (+155 °C), Flexspacer prevents direct contact between the insulation material and the pipe, thus preventing damage to the corrosion protection on the steel surface.

Erik Christensen, Sales Manager at Trelleborg's Offshore division, commented:

"We are passionate about developing high performance solutions that are specifically developed to help the offshore industry tackle the demanding and harsh environments that it operates in, and our latest solution, Flexspacer, is no exception.

"ONS 2012 is by far one of the world's most important international oil, gas and energy events and provides an ideal global arena for us to not only launch Flexspacer, but showcase the true potential of all of our industry leading solutions, to those that can benefit from them most."

The company will also be exhibiting its popular Vikotherm II, the latest generation of its Vikotherm subsea thermal insulation material, which has been successfully installed throughout the subsea oil and gas industry for over twenty years.

Utilising all the benefits of the first generation solution and taking them a step further, Vikotherm II has a k-value of 0.13 W/mK and can be used in water depths of up to 3000 meters. It can handle liquid temperatures of up to +311 °F (+155 °C), as well as external temperatures as low as - 31 °F (-35°C).

Also taking its place on the stand will be Trelleborg's passive fire protection material, Firestop, which was recently awarded the ISO 22899 certification by the International Organization for Standardization. The accreditation confirms that the company's innovative solution can safely and confidently be used for Jet Fire protection within pipes and hollow sections.
