New Product Introduction: WEGENER DTV 720 Transport Stream IP Multicaster



DULUTH, Ga., Nov. 2 -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, today announced the introduction of a new product designed to allow IPTV operators to easily integrate satellite and local digital HD signals to their programming line up.

Based on WEGENER's professional line of video headend equipment, the DTV 720 Transport Stream Multicaster allows video headend operators to seamlessly and efficiently repackage live programming for IPTV services. The DTV 720 accepts inputs from satellite receivers and local off-air antennae.

The DTV 720 can be equipped with up to four (4) ASI inputs to process live satellite feeds and up to (2) internal 8VSB and QAM tuners for local off-air broadcast TV signals. Streamline video headend equipment needs with the minimal one rack unit design and IPTV-friendly 10/100/1000 Base T (GigE) output.

The WEGENER DTV 720 can build up to sixteen (16) IP multicast transport streams from ASI and 8VSB inputs, with each IP multicast transport stream containing one (1) program.

Operations are fast and easy with an integrated web browser which provides a user-friendly interface for selecting programs for multicasts, assigning multicast addresses, monitoring system parameters and updating software applications. Save and recall stored configurations using the web browser interface for quick parameter changes.
