AST Introduces Two Low Pressure Products, Large DIN 43650A Option

Mt. Olive, NJ - July 11, 2007. American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) announces two, new advances in it's pressure product line with the AST44LP and AST43LP low-pressure, hazardous area approved pressure transmitters. These media-isolated, stainless steel units have been designed to perform in a variety of applications and hold the best price-to-performance ratio in the industry. Both low-pressure sensors are constructed with 316L SS wetted materials for complete compatibility with a wide range of liquids and gases.

AST44LP

The AST44LP carries a UL/cUL 913 (CSA 157) approval and has been rated for Class 1 Division 1 Groups C & D when installed with an approved barrier. This high-strength unit measures low pressure ranges from 0-5 to 0-15 PSI intended for Intrinsically Safe areas.

AST43LP

Similar to the 44LP series, the AST43LP also measures low pressure ranges from 0-5 to 0-15 PSI, but is recommended for use in hazardous locations. The AST43LP is UL/cUL 1604 (CSA 213) Class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C & D listed.

Common applications for both transmitters include: Industrial OEM Equipment, Water Management, Hydraulic Systems, Control Panels, HVAC/R Equipment, Gas Compression & Storage, Vapor Recovery and External Tank Leveling.

The standard fittings available for both products include ¼" NPT Male and 7/16"-20 UNF Male. In an effort to simplify system integration for existing applications, as well provide flexibility for new system designs, the AST43LP and AST44LP can be packaged with a variety of electrical options. Both units offer assorted cable lengths with conduit fittings or a Hirschmann DIN 43650A. The AST44LP however, is also equipped to provide alternative options such as: standard cable, mini DIN 43650, Bendix or Packard
Metripack 150 3-pin Connection.

UPDATE!!

Along those same lines, AST announces that the following products will now also have the DIN 43650A option: AST4300, AST4310, AST4400 and AST4410. This option helps to expand AST's evolving product line while providing an added benefit to the consumer and/or application. The large DIN allows for the unit to be easily installed, repaired or removed independently from the controller. Moreover, the DIN 43650A supplies another option for new designs and a drop in replacement for existing applications.

About AST

AST manufacture state-of-the-art, MEMS-based pressure sensors, transducers and transmitters that offer the best price-performance ratio in the industry. Through the acquisition of noted LVDT manufacturer Macro Sensors (http://www.macrosensors.com/), AST also offers a full line of linear/rotary position sensors, as well as related instrumentation. Common applications of AST sensor products are in industrial
OEM, hydraulic systems, fuel cells, medical gases, HVAC/R, refrigeration (ammonia, Freon, CO2), oil & gas exploration and production, and off-road vehicles. By combining exotic metals and AST's exclusive, proprietary Krystal Bond(TM) Technology (an advanced process in which inorganic materials are molecularly diffused onto a metallic surface in the presence of certain gases) in the manufacture of its pressure sensors, AST can produce high-performance pressure units that support the specialized needs of key niche markets. Many AST products are UL listed as intrinsically safe and certified for explosion-proof required environments.
