Barton Introduces the Latest Generation of Intrinsically Safe, Explosion-Proof Electronic Transmitters

Barton's FCX Series All and Alle transmitters measure, display, alarm and output level, pressure and/or flow data and are ideal for applications ranging from natural gas to cryogenic liquids

City of Industry, CA (Oct. 5, 2002) -- Approved by various international regulatory agencies, Barton's FCX Series electronic transmitters are compact, premium performance, intrinsically safe and explosion-proof. From sealed sensing systems to high-powered RTUs, for applications ranging from natural gas to cryogenic liquids, Barton's FCX series transmitters measure, display, alarm and output level, pressure and/or flow data. Typical applications include oil and gas, power, chemical, water and wastewater, food and beverage and general industrial use. In addition to years of trouble-free performance, FCX transmitters provide for the ultimate control of both the process and long-term maintenance costs.

Gage, absolute, differential pressure, flanged level and remote seal models are available in All series transmitters, while gage and differential pressure models are offered in Alle series. The All series transmitters feature an accuracy to ±0.07% of span, stability of ±0.1% URL for 3 years, and a response time to 40 msec. Alle series transmitters have an accuracy to ±0.1% of span and stability of ±0.2% URL for 3 years. Turndown is 100-to-1 (All) or 30-to-1 (Alle). FCX transmitters communicate in both HART and Fuji protocols. A simple electronic upgrade in the field will convert the standard All output for compatibility with both IEC Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus specifications.

A single silicon crystal etched to exacting standards is at the core of the transmitter. This micro-capacitance sensor design eliminates the effects of hysteresis and long-term fatigue. Additionally, Barton's advanced "floating cell" construction incorporates an over-range protection diaphragm which isolates the sensor from adverse conditions present in normal process applications. Materials of construction for metallic wetted parts include 316 SS, Hastelloy, Monel and Tantalum. The enclosure is rated IEC IP67 and NEMA 6/6P.

Complete product specifications are included in a colorful brochure which is available on Barton's website at www.barton-instruments.com.
