Communications Specialties Introduces Pure Digital Fiberlink® 4040 Series

All Digital Processing and Transmission for Four Audio Channels over one fiber

Hauppauge, NY - From Communications Specialties, Inc. comes another addition for the professional A/V market -- the Pure Digital Fiberlink® 4040 Series fiber optic transmission system. This state-of-the-art system offers all digital transmission of four independent audio channels over single mode or multimode fiber, and does so at a price that is competitive with traditional analog systems.

Sturdy, compact and adjustment-free, the 4040 transmitter and 4041 receiver may be installed in a wide range of professional A/V and Broadcast applications, in environments such as theaters, auditoriums, clubs, entertainment venues and retail. The four channels may be used to transmit four independent audio signals, two sets of stereo signals, or to support four-channel surround sound. Each audio channel may be configured individually by the user for either balanced or unbalanced input and output with or without input termination.

Offering all the advantages of a digital system at traditional analog prices, the 4040 series features 20-20 kHz bandwidth and is compatible with all line level audio sources. It operates over a wide temperature range. Transmitter and receiver units are each equipped with indicator LEDs to continuously indicate the presence of power and audio signals. A wide range power supply allows operation from low voltage AC and DC sources. The system is available in box or rack card version. Card units fill one slot in the model 6000A card cage.

"Like other products within the Pure Digital Fiberlink line, the new 4040 Series provides consistent, reliable performance at the highest level," explains John Lopinto. "The system transmits sound quality that's second to none, and yet has been engineered to be as sturdy, compact and easy-to-use as possible. It is our intention for the 4040 Series, as well as our other Pure Digital Fiberlink products, to become the standard by which fiber optic transmission systems are measured."
