High Efficiency R-Core Transformers
CUI Stack, Inc now offers High Efficiency R-Core transformers. These technically advanced transformers utilize a high quality, non-cut silicon steel core. There are two matched bobbins on each side of the core which mutually cancel the other's magnetic flux field, so countermeasures to reduce leakage flux are not needed. The R-core transformer usually has an efficiency rating of over 90% because of its no cut core, high-grade material, and minimal distance between core and winding. The high-grade material also features very little iron loss. With a round section produced by stepless curve slitting and continuous winding, the resistance loss and heat generation is 50% of an EI type transformer. R-Core transformers are 30% smaller, 30% thinner and 40% lighter than an EI type transformer.
