Patterned Acrylic Transfer Adhesive for Direct Skin Medical Applications



Windsor, Connecticut - January 17, 2006.... Scapa Medical has introduced Bioflex' Rx650U, a patterned medical grade acrylic transfer adhesive used for direct skin applications such as device attachment, dressings, surgical drapes, ostomy, and wound care.

The acrylic adhesive in Bioflex Rx650U is applied in a discontinuous cross-hatch pattern coating that results in 50 percent adhesive coverage. This pattern coating delivers improved breathability, fluid transmission and moisture vapor transmission. The 0.5 mil adhesive layer delivers excellent performance in demanding direct skin applications.

Formulated to deliver high tack and peel strength, Rx650U bonds well to a variety of substrates. The product is supplied with a 76# polycoated release liner and has passed skin irritation, cytoxicity and sensitization product safety testing.
