Transducer resists lateral forces.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for synchronous force and displacement measurements, U3 force transducer resists lateral forces and bending moments caused by weight of any connected machine parts that can lead to measurement errors. Lateral forces up to 100% of nominal rated force can be absorbed by welding supporting membrane parallel to measuring element through outer ring. Compact product, available in 8 measuring ranges from 0.5-100 kN, only records force applied in measurement direction.

Transducer Resists Lateral Forces

HBM's latest U3 force transducer resists lateral forces and bending moments caused by the weight of any connected machine parts that can lead to measurement errors.

HBM has ensured that lateral forces of up to 100 per cent of the nominal (rated) force can be absorbed by welding a supporting membrane parallel to the measuring element through an outer ring, The transducer has greatly improved accuracy since only the force applied in the measurement direction is recorded.

The U3 force transducer comes in eight measuring ranges covering 0.5 kN to 100 kN. The design is compact and includes flanged force application surfaces to ease installation.

Suitable for industrial and R&D applications, the U3 force transducer is ideal for synchronous force and displacement measurements found, for example, in assembly processes on automated production lines.
