Validyne Engineering Introduces The Only Fully "Re-Rangeable" DP15 Pressure Transducer Kit

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, October 2001 - Validyne Engineering eliminates the need to purchase multiple pressure transducers with the introduction of the DPl5 "10-In One" Pressure Transducer kit. The fully "re-rangeable" DP15 pressure transducer kit contains a variable reluctance sensor with 10 replaceable sensing diaphragms, 0-rings, bleed screws, gaskets, an AC power adapter, the CD379 portable indicator with LCD readout and all necessary cables. Ancillary components, along with a total of 23 sensing diaphragms can also be purchased separately on the company's website.

The DP15 can be re-ranged and calibrated in less than 30 minutes. The kit includes a selection of 10 sensing diaphragms from an available 23 diaphragms that support full-scale ranges between +/- 2.22" H20 to +/- 3200 psi. The DP15 is the only transmitter available that can be disassembled and re-ranged. This useful feature not only facilitates wide measurement capabilities, but also enables test engineers to replace diaphragms that become damaged by accidental over pressurization. The unit can also be cleaned internally to ensure compatibility with a wide range of test mediums. A corrosion resistant model is also available.

Validyne Engineering's variable reluctance sensing technology provides superior accuracy in the very low-pressure ranges. Wet-wet capability enables the DP15 to accept liquids and gasses on both sides of the diaphragm, while its small internal pressure cavity volume delivers rapid response to pressure variations. The lightweight unit is constructed of heavy-duty stainless steel and is rugged enough to withstand the abuse of field and laboratory testing within a temperature operating range of -50F - + 250°F while delivering +/- 0.25% accuracy.

"With today's shrinking R&D budgets, it became critical for us to provide our customers with one economic transducer to satisfy the broadest range of testing objectives possible," says Martin Abbott, vice president of marketing at Validyne Engineering. "The
DP15 saves our customers both time and money by allowing them to re-range, rather than re-purchase." In fact, the DP15, with proven long-term reliability, is the only pressure transducer needed for most types of laboratory and field-testing.

The DP1 5 kit comes standard with the Validyne CD379 portable indicator, which features easy calibration, compact size, LCD readout display and portability. The CD379 is a completely self-contained digital transducer indicator. In addition to the front panel liquid crystal digital display, the unit provides a +/-2 Vdc analog output suitable for recording, remote display or control purposes. The unit features solid state electronics,
3-1/2 digit liquid crystal display and battery pack with six 1.5 V penlight cells for truly portable operation. The unit can also be powered from an external DC power supply or AC battery eliminator (converter) module.
