New Disaster Prep (NDP) has Announced the Release of an Innovative and a Dynamic Training Tool

New Disaster Prep (NDP) has announced the release of an innovative and a dynamic training tool for military, public safety officials and emergency first responders based on rub-for-scent technology.

Manufactured by First Responder Prep LLC,  NDP Chemical Weapon ID training cards were developed to enhance current training methodologies, and assist with post exposure investigations.

Chemical weapon arsenals remain a viable threat to military personnel and civilian populations, due to their potential deployment and use by hostile military forces and terrorists.

Many first and second generation chemical weapons may be identified by their unique odor. For instance, the chemical weapon Lewisite smells like Geraniums, Sulfur Mustard Gas smells like Garlic. NDP Chemical Weapon ID training cards utilize words, information, images, and rub-for-scent technology to enhance chemical weapons ID training through the power of "Sight, Touch and Scent."

According to experts, smell may be “the most direct pathway to the brain.” Our ancestors learned to encode specific scents with important life-saving information, and modern man is continuing to expand this capability. Scent technology is currently used in myriad ways:  for astronaut training to recreate smells of outer space, for food advertisements, in children’s books, for aromatherapy, for weight loss, by perfumers in department stores, and for numerous other retail applications.

Now this use of rub-for-scent technology can be used as a dynamic, interactive classroom training tool to teach first responders and scene managers about the inherent dangers of chemical weapon threats. NDP is the first to utilize rub-for-scent technology for military and public safety training.

Each NDP training card set comes in a self-contained “Training Card Briefcase.” The scent is activated by vigorously rubbing a finger back and forth across the printed side of the card. The scent may be activated multiple times. After use, the cards may be stored together in the Training Card Briefcase and kept in a cool, dry place.
