Kubota's M4800 Special Utility Redefines the Basic Tractor

TORRANCE, Calif.- For 2003, Kubota Tractor Corporation (KTC) introduces an economical, basic tractor with many deluxe features, the M4800SU. With ample weight, perfect balance and loads of value added features, the M4800SU 2-wheel drive tractor enhances Kubota's long-standing, quality heritage.

Kubota's exclusive, 4-cylinder, 43 PTO horsepower, E-TVCS indirect injection, liquid cooled diesel engine delivers impressive power and high torque. The air-cleaning system consists of two dry-type elements contributing to engine longevity. The M4800SU is equipped with an 8 forward/4 reverse, partially synchronized main transmission. The range shift lever can act as a synchronized shuttle transmission between forward (low range) and reverse, making front loader work more efficient. An optional creep speed kit gives it 12 forward and 4 reverse speeds.

Operating implements is made easy with Kubota's powerful and responsive Hydraulic Control System. The independent 540-rpm PTO uses a durable, hydraulic wet-type PTO clutch for less wear and long life. The clutch pack engages smoothly; self-modulating engagement is automatically provided.

The PTO brake engages when the clutch is shut off and securely holds the PTO shaft. To aid implement hook-up, the PTO shaft can rotate 60-degrees with the engine off.

The Category I and II, 3-point hitch has an adjustable top link, turn-buckle-type lift rod and telescopic stabilizers to give fast, easy hook-up and adjustment of rear mounted implements.

The semi-flat deck on the M4800SU has been ergonomically engineered to provide plenty of legroom. Hanging pedals translate into additional space and are easy to operate. The ISO-mounted deck greatly reduces vibration and noise, helping to decrease operator fatigue. All control levers are color-coded and have been strategically positioned for maximum operating room, efficiency and access.

The full-open hood is made of formed steel for longevity and a sturdy, refined look. For added operator visibility and even further noise reduction, the enclosed muffler and exhaust pipe are horizontally positioned and safely tucked under the hood. Foldable ROPS with retractable seatbelt are standard.

The performance matched LA1002 front loader has been adopted for easier attachment/detachment with boom stands for easy on/off with no tools required. Developed from Kubota's advanced hydraulic technology, the loader provides the M4800SU with a powerful lifting force. Dual functions are made easier as a series valve and single lever control all movements. The joystick control valve offers intuitive operations and the regenerative dump circuit makes for faster dumping.

In addition to the M4800SU, Kubota Tractor Corporation markets a complete line of tractors up to 98 PTO horsepower, along with a line of performance-matched implements, construction equipment, pumps and generators, consumer lawn and garden equipment and commercial turf products.
