TPR2 Introduces a Class 'A' Waterproof Coating for the Building Industry... Non Flammable and Fire Extinguishing,
WATERBURY, CT - April 2005 - TPR2, Thermal Product Research, announces it's latest new fire safety product for Building industry...a FIRE EXTINGUISHING, FIRE BARRIER, FLEXIBLE WATERPROOF COATING.
AFESTM (short for Automatic Fire Extinguishing System) Flexible Fireshell(TM) Coating is the first of its kind. This new product from TPR2 aggressively reacts to extinguish flame, heat and the associated smoke that is produced during a flare up. The product recently has passed the most stringent flame spread test, ASTM E84, achieving a zero flame spread and zero smoke generation, as a non-flammable exterior grade coating.
The GREEN, water based, ultra low VOC coating is designed for and can be applied to walls, ducting, tubing, fencing, or other surfaces requiring non flammable protection. It is also effective on highly flammable surfaces such as fiberglass, insulating foam, plastic and other composites used widely in the building trade.

This revolutionary, cost competitive, water based coating can be applied directly to the substrate with conventional spray equipment, in many cases as inexpensively as acrylic latex paint. Besides extinguishing fires, it generates no smoke, no fumes and acts as a fire barrier, the company claims.
