Toyota Introduces New Product Enhancements for AC Pallet Trucks

Ergonomic and Intuitively Designed Options Created for Operator Comfort and Productivity

IRVINE, Calif. - Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU), the number one lift truck supplier in the United States, today unveiled several new product enhancements for its AC pallet truck line. The product enhancements are ideally designed for pallet truck usage in distribution centers, retail operations and cold storage applications.
"Toyota designed the AC pallet truck enhancements to meet tough material handling demands," said Martin Boyd, national product planning and marketing manager for TMHU. "They are designed to enhance operability, durability and reliability for our customers."

Ergonomically Designed Handle for Increased Control and Operability

Toyota product engineers took into account operators' growing needs in designing the new product enhancements. On the 6,000 lb. capacity pallet truck enhancements include a dedicated walkie-type control handle with large dual directional thumb-wheels and angled hand grips for greater maneuverability and simplified operation with either hand.

Extended Product Life & Ride Quality

Toyota's AC pallet trucks include a new innovative AC traction controller. The new controller is designed to improve truck operability and provide improved motor torque control and regenerative braking benefits.

The new electric disc brake system eliminates the need for brackets, linkages and cables, resulting in less moving parts and increased durability. The enhanced electric brake system utilizes controlled regenerative braking, which reduces brake component wear for longer product life. The new brake system self adjusts eliminating the need for routine maintenance, which translates to increased productivity and efficiency for Toyota customers.

Drive tire durability is improved with the addition of a new 12-inch diameter tire on the 6,000 lb - 8,000 lb. capacity center-control rider pallet truck and 10,000 lb. capacity tow tractor. The new standard tire lessens road vibrations and provides improved ride quality over the previous 10-inch diameter drive tire.

In addition, companies requiring extra protection against moisture and corrosive elements can benefit from a new optional steering bearing for cold storage and wet environments.
