Toxic Gas Detectors are IP66 rated for harsh environments.

Press Release Summary:

Consisting of transmitter (GTX) and sensor module (GTS), GT3000 family electrochemical fixed-point detectors provide non-intrusive calibration and ability to swap sensors without de-classifying hazardous areas. Transmitter generates 4-20 mA output signal with HART that is proportional to concentration of target gas and corresponds directly to 0-100% full scale. Sensors are available to detect hydrogen sulfide, oxygen, carbon monoxide, ammonia, chlorine, hydrogen, and sulfur dioxide.

Det-Tronics(TM) Releases Versatile Toxic Gas Detector Family

GT3000 reduces spare-parts inventory and is suited to harsh environments.

Minneapolis, MN (August 6, 2009) - Detector Electronics Corporation (Det-Tronics) today
announced the release of the GT3000 toxic gas detector family - a group of electrochemical fixed-point detectors that provide non-intrusive calibration, communication via 4-20mA and HART protocol, the ability to swap sensors without de-classifying hazardous areas, and thirdparty performance certifications (http://gt3000.det-tronics.com). Det-Tronics is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The GT3000 family includes sensors that detect these gases (more added soon): hydrogen
sulfide (H2S), oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), chlorine (Cl2), hydrogen (H2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2).

A GT3000 detector consists of a transmitter (GTX) and a sensor module (GTS). The
transmitter generates a 4-20mA output signal with HART that is proportional to the
concentration of the target gas and corresponds directly to 0-100% full scale. GT3000 is approved as a stand-alone device, but can partner with Det-Tronics' FlexVu® Universal Display for quick device set up and easy access to sensor status including local alarm and event logs.

"One of the primary benefits of the GT3000 is added intelligence with features such as
automatic sensor recognition and local event logging," says Mike Bragg, product development manager. "Additionally, because of the design and intrinsic safety features, users do not need to de-classify hazardous areas when attaching a sensor to a transmitter." GT3000 detectors are well suited to harsh environments, having been tested by a third party to the Ingress Protection standard and achieved the IP66 rating. In addition, all sensors have third-party performance approvals.
