Tower Enclosures offer up to 800 W of power.

Press Release Summary:

Portable Cool-H 9-slot Towers feature average airflow of 17.9 cfm per slot, sufficient to cool up to 100 W/slot. Eight-slot VITA 1.7 VME64x or CompactPCI switch fabric backplane is available. Fully compatible with IEEE 1101.10/11 packaging standards, units include provisions for 80 mm rear plug-in modules and transition modules. Front and rear ground clips provide grounding for plug-in modules, minimizing chances of circuit damage by electrostatic discharge.

Hybricon's New High Power Towers Cool Up to 100 Watts Per Slot

Ayer, MA, December 1, 2004- Hybricon Corporation announces the release of a new line of 9-slot portable towers (the Cool-H Series) designed for today's high power boards. High power boards and systems have been around for a long time; what's new is that they are moving from the custom realm into mainstream standards-based applications. The power dissipation levels of today's high power VITA 1.7 VME64x, VXS, and CompactPCI* switch fabric boards just keep increasing; in the past few years power dissipation in the 50W-60W range was the norm, now the range is increasing to 75-100W. Up until now, these 75-100W boards could only be adequately cooled in high performance full sized rack mount enclosures. Thermal analysis shows that this can now be accomplished in Hybricon's portable tower style enclosure. Thermal simulation of the Cool-H Tower shows an average airflow of 17.9 CFM (670 LFM) per front slot, sufficient to cool up to 100 watts per slot.

The Cool-H towers are available with Hybricon's 8-slot VITA 1.7 VME64x or CompactPCI* switch fabric backplane. Hybricon's backplanes have been computer simulated in Hybricon's signal integrity laboratory to ensure low signal cross-talk and trouble-free system operation. The enclosures are available with up to 800 watts of power.

Additional features include:
o Fully compatible with IEEE 1101.10/11 packaging standards
o Provisions for 80mm rear plug-in modules and transition modules
o Front and rear ground clips provide proper grounding (per IEC 950 section 2) for all plug-in modules thereby reducing the chances of circuit damage by electrostatic discharge
o Front-access peripheral module has provisions for mounting CD-ROM, hard disk, and floppy drives
o Custom configurations available

Priced at under $3,000.00 in quantity. For more information, see hybricon.com/products/enclosures/coolh.html
