Touchpanel Computer Module with Programmable User I/O



Fairport, New York. Touch240 is a new, compact touch-panel computer designed for professional-looking user-input and control applications. With a backlit graphic-LCD, and programmable input capabilities using an active touch area and 5 function keys, Touch240 delivers a multitasking Basic-programmable computer with powerful control and communication capabilities. An integrated development environment offers quick editing cycles, compiling and debugging on source-code level. A comprehensive set of tools and example applications are supplied with the Touch240 Starter Kit for speedy development time.

Touch240 enables high-speed high-resolution vector and pixel graphics to be displayed on the built-in graphics LCD, allowing for visualisation of complex ideas, the presentation of pictures and drawings, or the display of virtual instruments and animated sequences. Text messages can be displayed in scalable sizes for readability at various distances and working conditions, including machine control, car or truck operation, etc. The active touch area is ideal for all kinds of human input such as alphanumerics, menu choice, signatures and manual drawings, as well as equipment setting.

Built-in Flash memory (up to 2MB) allows for easy programming and fast software updates, data recording, import of data files, lists or access control codes, operation counters, etc. Up to 512 KByte SRAM space is double buffered, saving RAM data in power down mode even when the internal battery is removed.

Typical applications for the Touch240 include machine control, data entry, security & alarm systems, test equipment, etc. The rugged plastic & metal construction is well suited to front-panel applications, but additional accessories include hinged-base and flexible-neck mounts to suit most situations.

Touch240 incorporates a buffered real-time clock, 2 serial I/O channels (RS-232/RS-485), 8 digital outputs and 4 inputs, 3 x 0-5V analog inputs, with connection through DB-37m connector on the back. Operating voltage: 12V/24V, size: 6.9" x 5.3" x 1.2", wt. - 1.5 lb.
