Machine Operators Gain the Edge with Windows CE on their HMI
AVG, the designer and manufacturer of EZTouch─one of the most well-recognized operator interface products on the market for its ease of programming and low price─now directly offers the EZCE Touchpanel operator interface, an open platform PLC Touchpanel that combines the best assets of the original EZTouch with the functionality of a disk-less industrial computer running Windows CE.net 4.2., at a starting price of $799 for all available CE functionality. EZTouch users, in particular, can seamlessly upgrade from their current panels to gain the benefits of CE without redesigning their current applications or screens.
Operators have a variety of obstacles both in maintaining a healthy production flow as well as having the tools/resources available at a moment's notice to circumvent problems. EZCE Touchpanel gives a machine operator access to the world of Microsoft Windows CE operating system, which is the ability to view files such as Adobe Acrobat PDF, Excel, Word, Video, Word Pad text editor, or gain access to the internet, all on the same HMI display that is running the current automation applications. Windows CE provides a plethora of tools in which operators can store vital data and outlets to maintain production.
The EZCE Touchpanel, ideal for any machine operator, is especially advantageous for AVG's EZTouch and EZPanel Enhanced users. It is available in 6-, 8-, 10-, and 15-inch sizes, and has the same cut-out and dimensions as the original EZTouch and EZPanel Enhanced. Programs developed on either the original EZTouch or the EZPanel can be seamlessly transferred to the EZCE Touchpanel. The larger panel sizes, 8-, 10-, and 15-inch panels, also have the ability to view the panel application full screen or shrink it to a quarter of the screen, allowing the user to view both the Windows CE and application software portions of the HMI at the same time.
