Original Press Release:

Danfoss Unveils New Touch Thermostat for Electric Floor Heating at 2016 AHR Expo

The new programmable LX205T Touch Thermostat will be launched in early 2016, and offers smart control of floor warming systems.

Danfoss, a leading manufacturer of high-efficiency electronic and mechanical components and controls for heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, industrial, and water systems, unveiled its new, programmable LX205T Touch Thermostat during the 2016 AHR Expo in Orlando, Fla.

The LX205T Touch Thermostat is designed to control Danfoss LX Floor Warming Mats, LX Floor Warming Cables, or the TX Thermal Trace electric heating products. The LX205T Touch Thermostat is suitable for use with tile, stone, laminate, concrete, and wooden floor system applications. The thermostat is programmable and has the ability to switch on and off an underfloor heating system at predetermined times, enabling system owners to benefit from warm floors when the space is occupied and save energy while away. The LX205T features an easy to use 3.5-inch touch screen with intuitive control, high-resolution color display, built-in wizard, energy log, and a new contemporary design.

Smart Interaction

The smart, color touch screen is easy to use and navigate. An entire screen is designed for every action, making programming, schedule override, and initial setup simple for both the installer and end user. The scheduling method provides faster vacation setting changes to dates and temperatures.

Smooth Programming

Thermostat programming is based on six event days, and schedules can be copied from one day to another with a single operation.

Power Logging & Remote Monitoring

Thermostat power consumption can also be tracked in the energy log or saved to a PC with a few simple steps. The energy log will display and save the most recent 24 hours of data in high resolution, and also store the history in the thermostat. QR code technology enables power logging to be easily transferred and stored to a computer.

QR code technology also makes thermostat settings and energy log data accessible for control and monitoring from any device with web access.

Smart Power Control

By default, the thermostat controls ambient temperature and protects the floor against overheating. The default floor sensor can be replaced by any floor sensor.

Easy Installation

Installation of the LX205T thermostat is as simple as connecting the wires, turning on the power, and following the wizard. There is no need to remember special settings as the thermostat pre-sets the installer wizard and the user wizard ensures a fast and smooth process.

“As an enabler of connectivity, Danfoss is invested in developing new technologies that make it easier to control, monitor, and optimize system performance and energy use—and ensure occupant comfort—simply and remotely,” explained David Coy, national sales manager – electric heating, Danfoss. “These new thermostats signify dramatic advances in user-friendly technology and connectivity for electric floor heating systems.”

The programmable Danfoss LX205T Touch Thermostat, as well as a non-programmable format—the UTN4-4999, is expected to be available in early 2016.
