New 19 Inch Touch Screen Monitors Allow Use With Gloves

Caltron's Latest Touch Screen Monitors Feature Breakthroughs in P-Cap Technology

Newest Touch Screen Monitors Offer Greater Functionality, Better Visibility for Medical and Factory Applications

Thanks to a breakthrough from Caltron Industries, gloved workers in the medical and industrial sectors will now be able to use touch-screen monitors more efficiently than before. Caltron Industries' new, 19-inch LBT-1904OC and HBT-1904OC monitors feature full touch-responsive features that work with or without gloves.

P-Cap, also known as "projected capacitive", is a touch-screen technology widely used in smartphones and tablets. With the introduction of the LBT-1904OC and the HBT-1904OC monitors, a highly responsive version of P-Cap is now available for applications in medical offices, hospitals, or factories, where users commonly wear gloves while working on computers.

Before Caltron Industries' technical breakthrough, P-Cap was unresponsive for users wearing gloves, requiring people to remove gloves before interfacing with the equipment. Or the other solution was to provide a less reliable and less flexible mechanical button interface.

The LBT-1904OC and the HBT-1904OC also feature advances in P-Cap's noise immunity. The problem of static electricity or other "noise" from nearby electronic equipment affecting performance has been solved. These large-screen monitors perform consistently and without interruption, regardless of setting.

Some LBT-1904OC and the HBT-1904OC versions offer the options of either surface-acoustic wave (SAW) or resistive single-touch technology, as well.

In addition to its P-Cap breakthroughs, Caltron's newest touch-screen monitors offer better visibility in several ways:.

The generous 19-inch screen size provides a larger work surface, requiring less scrolling than smaller models.

The HBT-1904OC is a "high bright" monitor that is ideal under variable outdoor conditions.

Environmentally friendly LED backlighting illuminates the LCD panel, making the monitors less tiring to use for extended periods. LED technology uses up to 20 percent less energy than other backlighting methods.

The LBT-1904OC and HBT-1904OC are open-frame monitors, in the tradition of all Caltron touchscreen monitors built since 2005. The sturdy "drop-in" design facilitates easy and inexpensive integration into existing systems.

Various video input options increase the versatility of all Caltron Industries monitors. Video graphics array inputs come standard, with analog audio, DVI, S-Video BNC and composite video input choices also available.
