Enhanced Remstar Touch Screen Control Improves Warehousing Storage and Retrieval Productivity
A new, enhanced version of the PL-C Touch Screen Control from Remstar International supports simple pick list processing for warehousing storage and retrieval operations.
With the enhanced PL-C Touch Screen Control, a pick list can be entered into the storage and retrieval system or downloaded
from a host computer. Software processes the picks in an optimized way, increasing operator productivity and picking throughput.
The pick list can be created by keying in each part number
and the associated quantity, by scanning the list using an optional integrated scanner, or by importing the pick list from a host system.
The line item is highlighted on the touch screen control if there is not sufficient stock to fill the order. The software gives the operator the option to perform a Hot Put to restock parts or locations before proceeding with the pick list.
A single PL-C Touch Screen Control can support up to eight Remstar Shuttle(TM) Vertical Lift Modules (VLM) or vertical carousels. All machines are pre-moved into position for the next
pick, eliminating operator dwell time. Pick lists can be processed in the order they are entered or in an optimized sequence for maximum operator productivity. Pick allocations can also be assigned in FIFO order or in a distributed picking sequence across machines to increase productivity and throughput.
