Highly Transmissive Circular Polarizer Touch Panels Use Patented Technology to Achieve 76 % Transmissivity

Gunze USA, leader in resistive touch panel manufacturing, today announced the next- generation Highly Transmissive Circular Polarizer touch panels. Gunze's leading R&D team has developed a proprietary method for delivering high levels of visibility through the sputtering of an Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) low-reflective layer. This overall process isolates incoming light rays and converts them into circular polarized light, which is then transformed into vertically linear polarized light that cannot pass through the panel.

Gunze's circular polarizer touch panels are used for devices such as rugged notebook computers and handheld devices which are often used in emergency vehicles, military aircraft and vehicles and commercial aircrafts, but any type of film-glass or film-film LCD can use a circular polarizer touch panel.

The highly transmissive circular polarizer touch panels meet customer demands for enhanced readability and transmissivity for applications in direct sunlight and high-reflection environments.

The high transmissive polarized touch panels are made with substrates that allow as much as 76% transmissivity, an increase over standard circular polarized touch screens which have 67% transmissivity rates.

Gunze's technical expertise and specialized manufacturing processes allow for the sputtering of ITO on various layers in the optical stack-up. The panels are coated with anti-reflection materials and have been designed for both pen and finger input.
