Synaptics TouchView Portfolio Expands with Three New TDDI Solutions

Marks Inflection Point in Integrated Smartphone Architecture Revolution

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Synaptics Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced expansion of its TDDI product portfolio with three new Synaptics TouchView™ touch controller and display driver integration (TDDI) solutions designed to accelerate the architectural revolution of smartphones. These new TDDI products add to the previously-announced TD4300, and include TD4100 (HD resolution), TD4302 (WQHD resolution), and TD4322 (FHD resolution) solutions. All four are now available for sampling to leading global liquid crystal display manufacturers (LCM's), with a live demonstration at Synaptics' Analyst and Investor Meeting on November 17.

TDDI technology marks a new era in smartphone architectures that delivers lower overall system cost, simplifies the supply chain and enables thinner devices, brighter displays and borderless designs. Synaptics TouchView™ combines its best-in-class touch controller IP and display driver technology with its proven systems level expertise into a single-chip TDDI solution.

Synaptics TouchView™ integrates patented touch controller features -- such as support for up to ten fingers, passive stylus, face detect, low power wake gestures, gloved touch and moisture performance -- with its proprietary display driver features including billion color displays, sunlight readability enhancement, local area auto-contrast adjustment, and Image Studio, Synaptics' unique software development kit that empowers OEMs/LCMs with tools for custom fine tuning.

"Our innovation led to the industry's first TDDI solutions and this new trio underlines our market leadership in touch and display integration," said Kevin Barber, senior vice president, general manager, Smart Display Division, Synaptics. "With a strong IP portfolio and a global team of highly experienced engineers, our customers and consumers alike benefit from best-in-class performance and lower costs made possible by our game changing TDDI solutions."
