Torque Transducers suit transmission test stands.

Press Release Summary:

Series T10FS torque transducers are based on modified T10F measuring body, and use transverse stress measurement principle. Models offer torque ratings from 369 lb-ft to 7,376 lb-ft and speeds up to 22,000 rpm. They feature signal telemetry, non-contact torque measurement, reproducibility of less than ±0.02%, and linearity deviation of less than ±0.03%. There are no bearings or slip rings, and small moment of inertia reduces dynamic torque.

High-Speed T10FS Torque Transducers

Marlborough, MA - May 16, 2002 - HBM, Inc., a leading global supplier of test and measurement technology, data acquisition systems and software, announces the release of its new T10FS series of torque transducers. Featuring even higher speeds and smaller mass moments of inertia than its popular counterpart the T10F Torque Flange, the T10FS is designed for high-performance automotive testing applications where extremely high speeds with uncompromising accuracy are required.

The T10FS is based on a modified T10F measuring body, and similarly uses the transverse stress measurement principle. Primary applications for the T10FS include Formula One engine test stands, transmission test stands and chassis roll test stands.

The T10FS Series includes models with rated torques from 500 Nm (369 ft-lb) to 10 kNm (7,376 ft-lb) and speeds up to 22,000 rpm. Key advantages include:

- Compact construction - saves space and cost in test stand construction.

- Signal telemetry - non-contact torque measurement.

- Reproducibility of < ±0.02%; linearity deviation of < ±0.03%.

- High permissible dynamic loading - reduces over-sizing to accommodate torsional vibrations.

- No bearings or slip rings - absolutely maintenance-free.

- Small moment of inertia - reduces dynamic torque during acceleration and braking.
