Torque Sensor Offers Testing Conveniences

Amherst , NY (July 22, 2008) -Torque sensor series 4503A...from Kistler Instrument has two separately calibrated test ranges invaluable for simplified rotary device testing.

With the two ranges, a single instrument is able to sense specimen operating ranges and additionally sense the torque peaks far above nameplate levels encountered in typical test sequences. Where engines, pumps and turbines are cycled, torsional vibration and torque peak into the capability of the higher instrument range. Several measuring ranges are available from 0.2 to 3,685 lbf-ft at up to 50,000 rpm.

With extremely high accuracy, integral measurement electronics use digital signal processing and provide outputs of ±5 or ±10 V and RS-232C interface. Internal non-contact signal transmission is used for long life. The unit has a protection rating of IP40. Electrical connections are made by 7 and 12-pin Binder connectors. The 4503 series is equally productive at manual workstations or networked in automated test cells.
