BACKLASH-FREE TORQUE MULTIPLIER GIVES USERS UP TO 12,000 LB-FT TORQUE IN A SINGLE TOOL
J.H. Williams now offers a series of planetary gear torque multipliers able to generate from 750 to 12,000 lb-ft torque without stacking several tools. The compact, efficient planetary multipliers help users tighten or break loose stubborn fasteners in refineries, shipyards, and manufacturing plants. All incorporate an anti-backlash function that enables users to release the tool under load without dangerous spring-back.
Compatible with manual or non-impact pneumatic torque wrenches, the reversible multipliers have a l2 in. square drive input and 3/4 to 2 1/2 in. hex outputs. A ratchet holds input torque while the user repositions the torque wrench. The input drive shears off with 3 to 10% excess torque to protect the user and the multiplier mechanism in case of overload.
Input/Output ratios for the torque multipliers are from 3.3:1 through 70:1. Maximum required input torque is 200 lb-ft, regardless of output. A convenient conversion table on the handle enables users to determine actual torque output from
wrench input setting. The planetary gear torque multipliers are available with either a reaction bar or plate.
