These higher capacity transformers are specially suited to applications such as inverters/converters, UPS systems, fuel cells, power conditioners, solar generators and similar power applications.
Toroidal Transformers have many advantages over laminated constructions, including: 30% to 50% lower weight and size, very low electromagnetic radiation, better voltage regulation, very high efficiency, lower off-load power consumption, and up to 90% less mechanical hum. They also offer the flexibility of selecting the size which best fits a given application without special tooling costs
