The Rosemount Model 245 is Ideally Designed for Demanding Pharmaceutical and Biochemical Industry Requirements

NEW YORK, N.Y. (March 16, 2004) - To better meet the needs of its customers within the pharmaceutical and biochemical industries, Emerson Process Management is releasing the Rosemount Analytical Model 245 flow-through toroidal conductivity sensor. This new model is ideal for flowing samples that may be viscous, fibrous or corrosive since the sensor design enables it to withstand highly corrosive solutions better than conventional sensors. The Model 245 will be featured at INTERPHEX2004 in booth number 1937, March 16-18, 2004, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The Model 245 sensor is one of the complete Model 200 toroidal conductivity sensor series, which also includes two submersion/insertion sensors and a sanitary clean-in-place sensor.

"Like all of the sensors in the Model 200 series, the Model 245 is designed specifically to withstand the harsh environments of pharmaceutical, biochemical and food and beverage processing," said John Wright, vice president of marketing, Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical. "Our sensor design consists of a pair of wire-wound toroids that are completely isolated from the process. And because of this design, the Model 245 sensor can endure harsh environments better than conventional sensors that have electrodes exposed to the measured solution, so that in harsh environments, they can corrode or become fouled."

The Model 245 toroidal flow-through sensor is designed to withstand both clean-in-place and steam-in-place installations. The sensor is available in four different line sizes ranging from half an inch to two inches. This new sensor is manufactured with FDA-compliant wetted materials (316L Stainless Steel, EP and unfilled-PEEK) and meets 3-A sanitary standards. Cable connections are made in a convenient, weather-proof junction box to protect wires from periodic wash-down operations. The tri-clamp end connections ensure sanitary conditions and convenient process installation. A compatible flow-through sanitary RTD is available as an accessory.
