Original Press Release:

New T.M. Smith Tool Locking Fixture Protects Tool Holder Shanks

As the metalworking industry has moved towards using tool holders with more highly precision ground shanks, like HSK, it is essential that they don't get scratched or torn up, particularly when tools are being locked into the holder. For these reasons, T.M. Smith Tool is introducing a new tool holder locking fixture that features a nylon sleeve that protects the ground steel taper shanks from being damaged when tools are mounted or removed. Typically, locking fixtures are used to eliminate "on-spindle" tool changes that can cause damage to the precision high-speed spindles.

The T.M. Smith locking fixtures with the nylon sleeves are available in 30, 40, 45 & 50 CAT taper sizes as well as all HSK A and C tapers. The units are heavy-duty, practical and affordable. One set of sleeves is included with each fixture.
