RSA Security Expands Authentication Offerings with New RSA SecurID(R) Authenticators

USB-Enabled Token Supports Multiple Credential Types and Enterprise Single Sign-On; New Design Improves Convenience and Ease-of-Use

RSA(R) CONFERENCE 2005/SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 15 -- RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ:RSAS) today announced a new USB-enabled token and a sleek new key fob token design that support the company's vision for enabling broader global adoption of strong two-factor authentication by businesses and consumers. The new USB-enabled token allows companies to effectively manage a range of authentication credentials, including one-time passwords, digital certificates and static passwords, on a single device that supports logon for remote access, the Microsoft Windows(R) operating system and RSA(R) Sign-On Manager, an enterprise single sign-on solution. The new RSA SecurID(R) key fob token design is 35 percent smaller than the company's flagship key fob authenticator, providing greater user convenience. In addition, RSA Security furthered its leadership position in the authentication market in Q4 2004 with the shipment of the company's 20-millionth RSA SecurID authenticator.

"RSA Security is committed to continuous innovation in our portfolio of two-factor authentication solutions, in terms of delivering new product designs and integrating technology that will address both current and future security needs," said Jason Lewis, vice president of product management and marketing at RSA Security. "As companies embrace strong authentication as the cornerstone of a comprehensive identity and access management strategy, and consumers gravitate to two-factor authentication to protect their identities, the new authenticators will deliver high levels of choice, usability and integration capabilities."

New USB-Enabled RSA SecurID SID800 Token

The new USB-enabled RSA SecurID SID800 token delivers the levels of security, mobility and reliability associated with the flagship RSA SecurID tokens, while significantly expanding credential support and user flexibility. With an integrated USB connector, the token enables users to harness the security of two-factor authentication, whether working in a connected or disconnected environment. Desktop software, which can be installed remotely, ensures tight integration with the logon procedures for the Microsoft Windows operating system - including RSA SecurID one-time-passwords, digital certificates and username/password combinations. Additional benefits include:

o RSA(R) Sign-On Manager Integration: RSA SecurID SID800 tokens may be used as the strong authentication credential storage device for RSA Sign-On Manager, a secure enterprise access solution that combines strong authentication with single sign-on.

o Manage Multiple Credential Types: By integrating a 64k smart chip, RSA Security enables users to store up to seven digital certificates and three sets of password credentials, which can be used to log on to a Microsoft Windows operating system.

o Flexible One-Time Password Entry: The new authenticator allows users to manually enter one-time passwords to access corporate resources; in addition, a USB connector is able to read one-time passwords directly from the authenticator, eliminating the need to manually enter one-time password data.

o Automatic Windows Password Change Updates: The solution is capable of recognizing password change events and automatically updating credentials.

o Development Support for Programs Based on Sun(R) Java(TM) Technology: By integrating support for programs based on Sun Java technology, the new token enables customers to develop and manage customized applications.

New RSA SecurID SID700 Token

RSA Security's new RSA SecurID SID700 token delivers the levels of reliability and security that companies have grown to expect from the leading innovator in two-factor authentication. In addition, the new key fob authenticator also delivers benefits such as:

o Improved Usability and Convenience: With a form factor 35 percent smaller than the original RSA SecurID key fob authenticator, the new token is more convenient to carry and use.

o Strengthened Co-Branding Options: The RSA SecurID SID700 authenticator was designed to offer companies an effective co-branding option -- the form factor provides opportunities for customers to prominently display their corporate logos on the device.

Availability

RSA Security will begin delivering the RSA SecurID SID700 tokens immediately. RSA SecurID SID800 authenticators will be available in the second quarter of 2005.
